Go Bananas! Tom Tom club plus Video I found on youtube- footage from Carmen Miranda

Filming Day 2

Still windy, we drove to Kapelludden to film the last bits of the video today. Yesterday we had the company of cows and today we had some inquisitive horses wanting to be extras in our video! Johanna has just left to go back to Mölle, and I am going to Malmö tomorrow for a family gathering. I will also send the film off to Widescreen Centre in London and have to hurry up recording the song so that Johanna can start editing at the end of september!

Expressionism

Location location

Yesterday we went driving along Öland to find some spots for filming. Driving on the island at this time of year is a quite lonely experience. Summerhouses are closed for the season as are cafees and shops. The ÖLand originals come out in all their glory: with beards and incomplete clothing. We were very lucky to find some friendly souls at the camera shop in Borgholm: E-foto. They called for their photographer who brought his professional camera tripod, for us to lend during our filming! We were worried over jumpcuts and stop frames before, no more.

Second hand never more?

I have stopped buying new clothes altogether for some time now, and I have realised today, that I dont need to buy old ones either: our attic is full of treasures from the early ninetees: lots of courdoroy and some shoulder pads and jumpers, and an old blue and yellow track suit( from the 70s I reckon, by the small fit).

The film

Me and Johanna got one super8 film of about 3 minutes to film a video for the song temperature is high. And we ve got a couple of days here in the late-summer of Öland. Tomorrow we will continue the planning and go through what our attic holds in terms of costumes...

My guilty pleasure

Ok, it has a Lot of stereotypes as the Guradian critic is happy to point out in his review (There's nothing but lame stereotypes to be found in this duff but well-meaning comedy about a one-time conductor hoping to relive past glories, says Peter Bradshaw)
ANd it IS an incredible story, that sort that challenged me at times, but it also moved me to laughter and tears and it works as an antidote to practical cynicism. And for once its not a love story about love between people, but a story about people´s love and passion for music.

Searching for beautyspots: Öland, for video

I went for a long walk yesterday, along the westcoast of Öland. The sun came out and warmed me and the blue thyme growing everywhere. Here would be nice to film I thought.
