Singing in a hot hot room

In August last year I had the pleasure of playing one of my songs at the sofa sessions in Chichester. I am now very happy to share the outcome of the 3 minutes I spent in the sofa with a guitar: http://chilive.co.uk/?p=659

En valsmelodi- translation will be made soon

Beautiful Swedish song with words by the poet Nils Ferlin and music by Lillebror Söderlundh.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NRtMGiHQX0
This is a translation of the first verse, its not literal, I have instead tried to capture a bit of the flow of the language it is written in:
"The day is at end, the dark is awake; stars and cats and wenches-
Filled with dirt, scum and kooks, police and prison sleeping too- The child is beholding the hum of dreams, how an angel goes round our houses it seems- And alone in the late of night, Im hearing a longing walz- and I am quite thin, my bones are, and so is my neck and arms- I have sold my songs to entertainment business, and God may forgive me somethings I´ve written- And I am quite thin, my bones are, and so is my neck and arms."

Im confused

I went to Liljevalchs spring exhibition in Stockholm, which is an open exhibition and is said to be one of the first signs of springtime. Im confused because:
1. It keeps snowing and snowing and spring seems to be far away.

The art in the exhibition was very boring with a very few exceptions. Most rooms in the exhibition seemed to have existentialism, anxiety and emptyness as a theme. I looked in vain for a refreshing room. I liked the wall where you could move figures around, like in playschool. Oh, Interactive art, on you the fun will rely! What really depresses me is when you can hear the artist thinking too much about the art they create, thats how predictable and unnecessary art is created.

I liked Fritz Quasthoff´s pencil drawings, on the top is one of his drawings from 2003.
Standing in front of three of them in the exhibition, they trembled with energy and force!

The Swedish bottle shop

You may not have heard, but in Sweden the only shops with off licence are called Systembolaget. They are open Monday to Friday and some of them on Saturdays until the afternoon. It goes without saying that partying in Sweden requires some planning! I went to my local systembolaget today and once inside, I felt like I was in the tax free shop of a big Cruise'ship, this feeling was coupled with a small feeling of shame. The shop was packed with people stocking up for Saturday, Sunday and perhaps for rest of the week. If you want to go to Systembolaget, it can be useful to know that the sign looks like...

Reading tip for someone moving to France, or someone interested in learning about French life

My life had been much easier had I read this book before going to study in Paris ten years ago. Truth is the book was probably not even written then, and I found it in Caspar´s flat in January this year and read it during my stay this time around. It explains everything from kissing on the cheeks, the vous/toi dilemma, and gives an exciting insight into french office life!
