Paris and Stockholm!!!

Grunk Ma aka Sara is going to Paris in January and Lately La La is now playing two gigs there on the 24th and 26ty of January! And best of all- I will get some money for playing, kors i taket! At the same time, yes tiiime, will be spent recording music for the Irish girls documentary, as well as for future Lately la la tracks. I am hoping that my friends flat will provide me with french hot dog inspiration whilst running up the Montmartre hill to le Sacre coeur shouting Ahhh les Baguettes! Moving Ahead...In February I am going to Stockholm and staying in my cousins flat for two months: Hjääälp too much to take in...I have to write more blogs to keep myself updated with my life.

One of the best films ever is the Swedish comedy-classic "Picassos Äventyr" I wish I was better at downloading so I could watch this film over here.

Port wine is the drink for me

But just say a simple "Port" when you are ordering this drink at a Pub in England, otherwise people behind the bar get very confused.
On this note, here is a Swenglish drinking song that my grandmother taught me at an early age:

(sung with a strong Swedish accent)

"Over the mountains and down by the sea,
millions of drinks are waiting for me
oh go to hell with milk and tea
"snaps" is the drink for me!"

You can change snaps to your favourite one-syllable drink if you want.

Skååål!

Lately la la at New Park

Just a little notice saying that Lately La La played a miniature gig at the volunteer meeting at New Park Cinema on the 18th December. I believe there is some footage from the performance but I dont have it at hand right now!
I played Streetlights and Sayonara and these two sweet songs conquered the hearts of the OAP audience.
I also sang a duet with Henry; One more Dance
You can hear Miriam Makeba and Harry Belafonte performing this song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGlywmLXaYU

On December the 20th I played and sang as part of the New Park Cinema Christmas band New Park Rangers. The carol singing was a warm-up Christmas celebration before the cinema showed the classic Christmas film: a miracle on 34th street. We got very positive responses from the audience, a lady came up to me and told me she had been laughing so much she was in tears! The tongue-wricking Swedish translation of jingle bells was especially appreciated. The band consisted of: Me, Henry from Boxoffice, the siblings Marcus and Camilla and Mark the projectionist. Below you can see a picture from the film: A miracle on 34th street.
